Cadolto - Medical Prefab

Today I was hosted by Daniel Linn of Cadolto at their facility in Cadolzburg about 30 minutes outside of Nuremburg.

Founded in 1896, Cadolto now produce predominantly Hospital and Medical buildings. They currently have 4 major projects on the books in France, Germany and Norway ranging from 120 modules all the way up to 330 modules for a 50 million euro hospital for the people of Kirkenes in the Arctic Circle.

Utilising steel structural frames and wall systems made up from a combination of various panel and insulation products, Cadolto don't do anything particulary revolutionary, but are able to co-ordinate turn key buildings for complex site conditions.

Each module weighs on average 15 - 25 tonnes, with more specialised modules like operating theatres weighing up to 40 tonnes with mechanical systems and medical equipment.

Thanks to Daniel and the Cadolto team for opening up their doors and providing unrestricted access.
