Festival of Architecture and Design 2015
For the next few months my attention will shift away from the Jack Hobbs McConnell Travelling Fellowship to the 2015 Festival of Architecture and Design.
As a FAD Creative Director along with inaugural JHMTF recipient Anthony Balsamo and Leah Salamon, we are busy working with the Australian Institute of Architects, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the Design Institute of Australia to pull together an incredible 40+ events for 2015. This is a remarkable jump from 2014 which hosted a more modest 12 events.
I am particularly excited about an event I am curating titled Future Forum : The Age of the Driverless Car.
The event will hypothesise the role Architetects and Designers can play in the roll out of the driverless cars in our cities.
How will it impact the we design our cities and our homes?
Can South Australia become an incubator for new theory in Architecture and Urban Design?
I was excited to find out last week the Premier, the Hon. Jay Weatherill has accepted my invitation to open the event and discuss the governments objectives in this area.
